Approved cultural institutions

Approved cultural institutions

Overview

Organisations that qualify as approved cultural institutions (ACI) may publicly exhibit unclassified films, demonstrate unclassified games and display submittable publications without applying for any approvals or having to register their events.  To qualify, organisations will need to have trained personnel who can assess material for your event.  Training is provided by the Classification Branch. There is no fee for training.

You will find here details about the criteria for becoming an ACI and the rules such organisations must follow when publicly exhibiting unclassified material.

If you want your organisation to become an ACI but you have not yet completed the necessary training, please contact the Compliance and Education section on 02 9289 7100 or at CAE@classification.gov.au.
