What to provide and arrange

Essential requirements

In all cases you will need to provide:

  • A copy of the film in an acceptable format and of acceptable viewing quality.
  • A completed Film not for Public Exhibition Application Form.
  • A completed Classifiable Time Worksheet.
  • The correct fee.
  • An adequate written synopsis—this needs to summarise the plot of the film from start to finish.
  • Attachment one of the Application form. This must either detail the nature and location of any contentious material (material above M level) in the film, OR declare that no such material is included in the film.

Please refer to the User Notes for completing Attachment One: Contentious Material for more information on how to complete this form.

All of the above forms and materials are available on the right-hand side of this page.

You must send the correct documentation, materials and classification fee with any application for classification. If you do not supply all the required information your application will be delayed.
