Step 2 - Check the Classification

Check the classification

If you are unsure if a publication is classified, or whether you have the correct information about a classified publication, you should search the National Classification Database (NCD) for the classification decision.

The NCD gives you information about the classification decision, consumer advice, and other information about the publication itself, including the number of pages, edition number and whether the publication has a serial declaration (where available) so you can compare the results with the publication you have to advertise.

If the publication is not listed, and it is a submittable publication, you cannot advertise it.

Marking guidelines and downloads are available to help you with this in the next section.
