Why do I need an account, and do I have to pay in advance?

Application requirements

Most applications for classification or certification by commercial applicants require a fee to be paid.

You must set up an account with us before payments can be receipted and applied as credit towards your applications. If your account has not already been set up when you send in your first application it may be delayed, as a new account needs two or three working days to be set up.

Your account must have enough credit to cover the relevant fee before any application processing can begin. Insufficient credit in your account will delay your application.

Payment can be made in advance or provided with your application. Payment can be made by direct deposit bank transfer. Please ensure that your office covers bank fees charged by your bank and their associated bank in Australia for T/T because insufficient payment will cause delays in processing your application. Our bank does not charge fees for receiving T/T. If paying by credit card, only Mastercard, Visa or American Express credit cards are accepted. Please ensure your card issuing bank allows international transactions in Australia.

General information

Payment receipts will be issued by email or post once money has been received.

All fees and charges are established by government regulation, so they do not contain a GST component, and tax invoices will not be issued for classification services. More information can be found in the Cost Recovery Impact Statement for classification fees.

You can request account statement for a given period, which will be emailed to you.
