Classification notification

Decision notification

We will notify you of the decision by emailing you a copy of the classification certificate. You will usually receive a decision within three working days of the screening date.

Decisions are published on the National Classification Database the day after application processing is complete.

When you have told us the national release date for your film, it will also be listed in Upcoming releases until the date reaches the national release date.

Appealing the decision

You can ask an Client Liaison Officer for a copy of the board's reasons for decision.

If you disagree with the board's decision, you can apply for a review to the Classification Review Board, an independent review body.
