Registered events

Organisations holding events such as film festivals, community screenings and game expos may include unclassified films, games and submittable publications in their program if they register their event.

‘Submittable publications’ are unclassified publications which contain material that should be restricted to adults. This is because it contains material that is unsuitable for a minor to see or read, or because the material is likely to cause offence to a reasonable adult such that it should not be available to the public without any guidance or restrictions.

Films, computer games and publications that have already been classified in Australia do not need to be registered to meet the requirements of the Classification Scheme.

You will find details about the criteria for registered events, the conditions for exhibiting unclassified material and instructions for how to register an event in the following sections.
