How to register your event

Using the portal to submit a registration

Once you have an account and login credentials for the registration portal you will be able to enter and submit details of future events being held by your organisation.

The person who submits the registration must be working for or with the organisation holding the event, and may be a volunteer. When completing the online form, the registering person will be asked to make declarations on behalf of the organisation regarding the content being exhibited and compliance with the standard conditions for registered events. They will also need to read the Registered events fact sheet prior to submitting the registration.

You must submit complete and accurate details of the event prior to the event commencing.

Refer to the Classification Portal User Guide: Registering an Event for instructions on completing and submitting your registration. You will be able to save the information you have entered at any stage and log in again to edit and submit the form.

If you need to change the details after the registration has been submitted (for example, to add an extra film) you should update the registration to reflect each change as soon as practicable. This must occur before any change takes place (eg. before any screenings of the additional film).

When registering an event that occurs in multiple locations, please enter the date that the event commences in the first location as the start date and use the date that the event concludes in the final location as the completion date.

If you have accessibility issues please contact us. Under certain circumstances you may use a manual registration process instead of registering your event online. These circumstances are limited, but include:

  1. disability, serious illness or incapacity of the registering person
  2. being in a remote or other location without functional online access, or
  3. the Department's application processing system or its replacement(s) is unavailable.

If you complete the manual registration process you should submit it to before your event commences. Manual registrations will only be valid if one or more of the circumstances above apply. If you do not meet these circumstances, use of the manual process will not result in your event being legally registered.

Before registering your event please read the Privacy Notice below in relation to the collection of data when registering your event, as specified under section 6D of the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 and the Classification (Publications, Films and computer Games) Conditional Cultural Exemption Rules)  Instrument 2015 (the Instrument).
