Standard discs such as DVDs and CDs
An 8 mm classification symbol square must be placed near the title on the disc.

Videocassette
An 8 mm classification symbol square must be in the lower left corner of the label on the videocassette.
Small storage device such as small discs, memory sticks and cartridges
Markings must be placed in the lower left corner of the label, on the casing or near the title on the disc.

Discs, videocassettes and small storage devices containing advertising material only, such as demo discs
Devices containing advertising material only are to be marked as per requirements for devices listed above. Markings must be for the classification applicable to the film or computer game with the highest classification that is advertised within the device.
For example, if you have a sample disc containing advertisements for 3 titles classified G, 4 titles classified M and 1 title classified MA 15+, the device must carry the MA 15+ markings as per the specifications listed above.

General requirements for display, format and legibility of classification markings on devices
General provisions are set out in Part 3 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007. Relevant sections are indicated below.
Markings must be displayed
All devices must display classification markings.
Exceptions to this requirement occur if the person is incapable of adding to the content of the identification material (the label) on the device. (See Section 9 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
If it is not practicable to comply with a display requirement, the marking will be taken to comply with the requirement if the marking complies, as nearly as reasonably practicable, with the requirement. (See Section 11 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
Format and legibility
Classification markings on devices must be clearly legible. (See Section 20 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
Markings must be displayed in high contrast to the background. (See Sections 13, 15 and 19 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
Coloured markings must be coloured in accordance with CMYK values as listed in Part 3 of Schedule 1 of the Determination. (See Section 13 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
The classification character or classification symbol may be displayed in monochrome in a monochrome environment. (See Section 15 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
The font for the classification symbol must be displayed in FF Din Bold. (See Section 17 of the Classification (Markings for Films and Computer Games) Determination 2007).
