1 November 2012: New look Classification Website

Welcome to the new Classification Website.

The new-look website has been designed with people who will use the site in mind – information has been arranged to make it easier for different groups to easily find the information they are looking for.

Searching the National Classification Database is easier; search results give you more detail than ever before – you can see posters, synopsis and cast information, information about the classifiable elements that are in the film or game and links to external sites for further information (where available).

Information for our industry users has been redesigned to give you everything you need to apply in one place – including application forms, relevant fees and other resources – all explained in a simple, step-by-step guide to assist you in applying.

Parents and students have a dedicated section that gives you all you need to know about classification in easy to understand language. You’ll also find resources for conducting research for assignments, fact sheets explaining the schemes and how they apply to you, and other useful information to help you to make informed choices about you watch, play and read.

Visually, the site has been updated to look more inviting, with large buttons to help users pick the information areas they need; you’ll also notice that we’ve added more visual elements and clickable links to help you learn about classifications.

It’s easier to access the latest classification decisions and upcoming releases – one click will give you a list of each; there are also RSS feeds to help you stay connected to the latest decisions.

Thanks for visiting!
