Classification enquiry

Australian Classification online enquiry form

The Department of Communications and the Arts (the department) collects and uses personal information you have provided as part of this form to address your enquiry relating to the classification of publications, films or computer games and related matters. Your personal information may also be used for the purpose of administration, regulation and evaluation of the classification program.

You have the option of using an alias or remaining anonymous in relation to your enquiry, but if a valid email address and/or phone number is not provided, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry.

The department provides some or all of this information to the Classification Board and/or to the Classification Review Board. The department may also give some or all of this information to the Minister with responsibility for classification, and to state and territory government Ministers or agencies with classification responsibilities.

If the subject matter of your enquiry is relevant to the functions of the Australian Communications and Media Authority or the Advertising Standards Bureau, your personal information may also be provided to these entities.

Your information will also be retained in accordance with the record-keeping obligations of the Archives Act 1983.
