The Act

Classification Act

The Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 is the Commonwealth’s contributions to the National Classification Scheme. The Act establishes the Classification Board and the Classification Review Board and the National Classification Scheme.

The Act provides that the Classification Board classifies films, computer games and certain publications. The Act also established the review mechanism, the Classification Review Board, which on application, reviews decisions made by the Classification Board.
