Authorised Television Series Assessors (ATSA) scheme training
Authorised Television Series Assessors (ATSA) scheme
The Classification Act provides that the Director of the Classification Board may authorise a person to assess and make recommendations on the classification of television series and series related content. The scheme covers films that consist of one or more episodes of a television series where at least one episode has been broadcast in Australia, as well as additional series-related material. An ATSA assessor will view the material and complete an assessment report which will be provided to the Classification Board. The report will include a recommended classification and consumer advice. The Classification Board will take into account the recommendation from an authorised assessor when making a classification decision.
Please note: The scheme is not mandatory and the existing classification arrangements are still available to distributors.
