About the Trained Content Assessor training
Content Assessment training courses are available for all parties who develop, carry and/or provide content for commercial content service providers to become trained content assessors as provided for under Schedule 7 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
Commercial content services are regulated under rules set out in Schedule 7 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992. Schedule 7 refers to the classification types in the National Classification Code.
Schedule 7 requires that commercial content service providers engage trained content assessors for the purposes of determining whether content is potentially prohibited.
Trained Content Assessor Training –What courses are available?
Full day training
The full day training course in the assessment of probable classification of content is available to distributors of telecommunications media who wish to participate in the scheme.
Refresher training
A refresher training course is also offered to distributors who have previously participated in the full day course.
Scheduled courses
Courses are offered several times a year.
Course costs
The cost of the Trained Content Assessor training courses are based on a cost recovery principle and are inclusive of GST.
- Full Day Course - $297.00
- Refresher Training - $220.00
What does the Trained Content Assessor training cover?
The Trained Content Assessor training program covers:
- an overview of the national classification scheme, including legislative instruments
- the meaning of the classification types
- practical use of the classification guidelines, and
- practical assessment of material.
Once trained as a Trained Content Assessor, participants are issued with a letter of authorisation by the Director of the Classification Board.
