The Classification Board makes classification decisions about films, computer games and publications. Generally, media releases are only issued by the Classification Board when such a decision is likely to be of unusually high public significance. In other instances, these decisions can be found by searching the classification database at find a classification.

The Classification Review Board makes classification decisions when an application has been made for a review of a film, computer game or publication for which the Classification Board has already made a decision. The Classification Review Board always issues a media release to announce the decisions it has made, and these can also be found in the Classification Review Board decisions, and are listed by year. The reasons for these decisions are posted on the website as soon as is practicable for the Review Board to have written them after the decision has been made.
