1923: Season One is a US historical drama series, a prequel within the Yellowstone franchise. A family on a ranch in Montana comes under threat from local cattle thieves and landowners, forcing them to take desperate measures to protect their interests. The series consists of eight episodes and is accompanied by a suite of additional material, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, making-of documentaries and trailers.

Themes

The series contains themes that include murder, vengeance and abusive behaviour, including the oppression of Indigenous people. There are scenes depicting sado-masochistic behaviour in a sexual context.

Violence

The series contains violence, sometimes using guns and other weapons. Characters are beaten and suffocated. Violence results in some bloody injury. There are also scenes of sexualised violence in which participants enact a scenario involving sado-masochism.

Sex

The film contains sex scenes as well as scenes which depict sexual gratification from enacting a sado-masochistic scenario.
