A modified version of Avatar, a previously classified US science fiction film that tells the story of Jake Sully, a former U.S. Marine, who agrees to replace his twin brother in the Avatar program, in the hopes that it will enable him to walk again. Jake becomes caught up in an epic conflict on the distant planet of Pandora, where humans and the Na'vi engage in a war over the planet's resources and existence. This re-release edition features the original film remastered in 4K HDR, plus a brief sequence of footage from the upcoming sequel, inserted midway through the end credits of the film.
The film features science fiction themes, with humans adopting avatars on a remote planet in order to interact with an alien tribe. There are fantasy creatures and some mildly intense action sequences. There are scenes of environmental destruction.
