Back to the Past is a Hong Kong action film in which Hong Siu Lung and his family, who have travelled back in time, must protect the Qin emperor and the kingdom from a 21st century time traveller. The film is in Cantonese with English and Chinese subtitles.

Themes

The film contains themes of loyalty, family and desire to change the past to bring about a less violent future. There is also an implied reference to a character's suicide in order to escape a dangerous and hopeless predicament.

Violence

The film contains violence in battle sequences with the use of ancient bladed weapons and 21st century firearms and technology. Substantial blood effects and injury are a part of the battle narrative.

Language

The film contains use of the words, "crap", "ass" and "damn".
