This film is a modified version of the previously classified feature, The Croods: A New Age. It is an animated comedy adventure film and sequel to the 2013 film, The Croods. It follows the prehistoric family, The Croods, who encounter their biggest threat since leaving their cave; another family called the Bettermans, who claim to be more evolved and challenge the Croods on their way of living.

Themes

The film contains themes of peril which includes family members being captured in order to be sacrificed at the hands of a giant ape-like monster covered in spikes, who growls menacingly through sharp, pointed teeth.

Violence

Rocks, including ones on fire, are thrown at a giant ape-like monster. A large stick is catapulted at the monster and becomes implicitly lodged in its eye. The film also contains short sequences of stylised, animated violence in the form of kicks, slaps and punches. This is mostly delivered in a light-hearted, slap-stick manner.

Language

The film includes use of the word "heck".
