DEAD OF WINTER

A widowed fisherwoman, Barb, travelling alone through the epic wilderness of snowbound, northern Minnesota, interrupts the mysterious kidnapping of a young woman, Leah, by a desperate couple who are armed and intent on murder. Hours from the nearest town and with no phone service, Barb realises that she is Leah’s only hope. Intertwined with the action to save Leah, is the love story of Barb and her recently deceased husband, Karl. A gritty and atmospheric thriller, the film features three women – the kidnapper, the kidnappee, and the rescuer – and their physical and psychological endurance and survival.
