Edmond is a comedic drama set in December 1897, Paris, which follows the struggles of play-write, Edmond Rostand, and his inspiration behind his famous stage-play, Cyrano de Bergerac. The film is in French with English subtitles.

Themes

The film contains themes including a man's inability to write and feeling like a failure. There is also a scene of racism in which a white male calls a black café owner a "fancy talking negro".

Violence

Violence in the film consists of a female slapping a male in the face and a stage-play sword fight (no injuries are depicted).

Sex

There is a scene that is set in a brothel in which a female holds a man's hand and walks him up stairs (no sex depicted). Another scene depicts a woman (below screen) unzip a man's pants and kneel in front of him. The screen immediately cuts and he is heard saying, "Holy Moses."
