Lao Lin (Li Youbin) is a grumpy retired steelworker whose quiet life is turned upside down when he meets Ma Teng (Lin Gengxin), an upbeat drifter who accidentally becomes his “caregiver.” A hilarious misunderstanding leads Lao Lin to believe Ma Teng is a shady operator, while Ma Teng just wants to earn enough to fulfill his daughter’s small wish.
On an unexpected journey together, the mismatched pair go from suspicion to true friendship, learning to face illness and fear with humor and heart — and discovering that there is always a light worth living for.
