In Fabric is a supernatural “adult fairy-tale” about the relationships between salespeople, purchasers and their products, and lives of servitude, interlaced with hypnotic, trancelike states. The story revolves around a cursed red dress and its successive owners.

Themes

The film contains strong supernatural themes including, the negative effects and other experiences such as bloody injury, death, nightmares and dreams, by successive owners of a cursed red dress. A woman sustains a bloody injury to her arm; and another woman experiences a rough-Caesarean delivery.

Violence

The film features a brawl amongst shoppers with people being pushed and shoved. No blood or injury is seen.

Sex

The film includes a bizarre, after-hours sexual ritual which includes the sexual stimulation of a mannequin (replete with bleeding vagina and pubic hair) while a watching man masturbates. The film also features a number of other sex scenes.

Language

The film includes use of the words, "arse", "bastard", “bitch”, "bloody" and "damn".

Drug use

There is a verbal reference to injection of "foolhardy substances".

Nudity

The film includes detailed genital nudity on a female mannequin replete with pubic hair.
