Garfield is a U.S. animated film which follows Garfield after an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father, a scruffy street cat named Vic. Garfield and his canine friend, Odie, are then forced from their perfectly pampered lives to join Vic on a risky heist.

Themes

The film contains themes related to an estranged relationship between a father and son, revenge and separation. The film also contains fast-paced sequences involving a train chase and giant butcher knives in a factory that convey a brief sense of threat and menace.

Violence

The film contains animated violence that is primarily comedic and slapstick, including punches, shoves and whacks with sticks. There is also threat in the form of the villain, a cattle prod is used to electrocute and chilli flakes are flung into a character’s eyes.
