The God of High School is a Japanese anime supernatural drama series in English language, in which a young man, Mori Jin, is invited to join "The God of High School" Martial Arts tournament, an event sponsored by a shady corporation. Participants fight by using mystical powers granted by supernatural entities, such as gods, demons, and mythical creatures.

Themes

The film contains strong supernatural themes, and features a range of malevolent entities able to cause gory and bloody injuries to human opponents. The series also features a mysterious cult and its malevolent god who seek to destroy the world.

Violence

Multiple stylised kung fu fighting bouts are featured, where opponents are assisted by supernatural beings and powers. The fights are bloody and injuries are frequent. Gory non-competition violence is also featured, occasionally resulting in dismemberment and impalement.

Sex

Sexual references are featured in the series, including the tearing down of a man's trousers, to reveal his undershorts displaying an elephant's head with prominent trunk on the front, as well as a female competitor proclaiming her desire to build up her male harem. A male character is accused of being a porn watcher, and is called a virgin in a derogatory manner.

Language

The series includes use of the words "bastard", "shit", "crap", "ass" and "hell".
