Heretic is a dark fantasy first-person shooter video game released in 1994. The player is the elvish protagonist Corvus and must fight through undead hordes to reach Hell's Maw, where he must seal the portal of the Serpent Riders.
Hexen: Beyond Heretic is an indirect sequel released in 1995 and takes place in another realm hunting down one of the Serpent Riders.
Both games are heavily based on the original DOOM game.
