Based on the book and the live production with the same title, “Working Class Man,” is a documentary feature film about Australian rock-n-roll legend, Jimmy Barnes. Jimmy recounts his ascent in the music world, from the excess and success of Cold Chisel, to the ups and downs of his solo years, reconciling his career with relationships and family life, and the self-destructive lure of substance abuse. This film is a reflection on poverty and wealth, success and fame, childhood trauma, family, alcohol and drug addiction, and the struggle to accept that you are worthy and have value. Despite the film’s several verbal references to suicide, it is full of Jimmy’s trademark frankness and honesty and is a story about how there is no point where you can’t make things better.
