Lonesome is an Australian drama in which Casey, a gay cowboy, moves from the country to Sydney to escape a small-town scandal.

Themes

The film features sexual themes including consensual acts of sexualised violence including sadomasochism. The film also included several verbal references to suicide and a scene in which a character attempts to drown himself.
