Madres Paralelas (‘Parallel Mothers’ in English) is a dramatic film from Spain. Two women meet in hospital as they are about to give birth. Janis is approaching 40 and is excited to be a mother. Ana is an adolescent and unhappy about her situation. From this initial meeting, the events that follow draw them back together and change both their lives.
