NOCE is a Japanese exploration-based psychological horror game set in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka in the 1960s. The player as Hinoko explores the village through first-person gameplay in order to solve puzzles, collect clues and battle infected monsters in order to find out what is causing the real world and an otherworld to combine.

Themes

The game contains cutscenes and blood-stained environments that features horror themes, set in an altered reality and "otherworld" in with the player character must solve puzzles and defeat supernatural, grotesque, deformed and infected monsters that frequently attack. Other themes include family violence, familial discord, marriage and gender roles, murder, illness, alcoholism, torture and bullying.

Violence

The game contains violence in the form of stabbings. Depictions are accompanied by blood effects including spurts and sprays.
