One of Them Days

It’s the first of the month and rent is due! But Dreux (Keke Palmer) is calm and carefree after her nightshift as a waitress at Norms; She’s already paid her part of the rent to her free-spirited artist best friend and roommate Alyssa (SZA). She’s even got an interview with her corporate bosses for a management position later that day that could permanently end her paycheck-to-paycheck struggle. Things are looking up as she closes her eyes to finally get some sleep. But when their landlord Uche (Rizi Timane) comes knocking for the unpaid rent, Dreux and Alyssa find out that Alyssa’s scrub boyfriend Keshawn (Joshua David Neal) spent their rent money on fake Gucci shirts instead, and their day goes from bad to worse as their landlord gives them until 6 P.M. to come up with the missing $1,500 or be evicted.
