Oscar Live Action Shorts 2023 is a compilation of five short films – An Irish Goodbye, Ivalu, Le Pupille, Nittrakken and La Valise Rouge. The films are in English, Italian, Norwegian, French and Arabic, with non-English dialogue subtitled in English.

Themes

The films contain references to child abuse and a scene of homophobic bullying. There are sequences of threat, including a scene in which a young girl flees from the man it has been arranged for her to marry. There is a realistic scene of a fish being beaten with an oar.

Violence

The films occasionally feature the threat of violence. There are depictions of arguments, aggression and scuffles.

Sex

The films contain infrequent sexual references which include the use of coarse language.
