Outward Defintive Edition is a modified version of an open world role-playing game in which the playable character embarks on perilous expeditions across untamed lands to reach new cities, undertake varied missions and discover hidden dungeons crawling with formidable enemies. The modifications to the previously classified game include the addition of new dungeons, weapons, gadgets, skills, equipment enchantments and city building mechanics.

Themes

The player navigates a fantasy environment that features highly-stylised depictions of blood splatters, piles of bones, corpses and severed body parts. Some corpses are viewed hanging by their necks and a character in one section of the game dies by suicide.

Violence

The game includes attacks on animals, fantasy creatures and human enemies with weapons including swords, lances, axes and flaming rods. These attacks include brief depictions of highly-stylised blood spray.

Language

The game includes use of the words "bastard" and "damn".

Nudity

The game includes undetailed nude statues.
