Pagalpanti is an Indian comedic film, in which a trio of perpetually unlucky men stumble onto the treasure of a local underworld figure. They embark on a life of luxury until the treasure’s owner discovers it is gone. The film is in Hindi with English subtitles.

Themes

The film contains references to organised crime. Three men carry out a scam where two of them rob a civilian, using a knife and a banana, before the third man pretends to be a hero and returns the person’s belongings. A construction worker is seen holding a pick which has a helmet stuck on it. The end of the pick has some blood on it. It is implied he hit his co-worker in the head while distracted. The injured man is not seen.

Violence

The film contains several long scenes which include gunfire and destruction of vehicles. Several vehicles explode in flames, sometimes after flipping during car chases. Most of the characters cower in place while gunfire is heard. When men are shot, they generally jerk to a stop and fall to the ground. There are occasionally small amounts of dark blood spray.

Sex

A man and a woman enter a room with messy hair while giggling. It is implied that they have had sex. The other people in the room stare at them while they cuddle and kiss affectionately on the couch. Their behaviour prompts two of the other men in the room to flirt with two of the women.

Language

The film contains use of the words, “shit”, “buggers”, “bloody” and “hell”. The subtitles partially censor the language, for example, “sh**”, but the audio is heard.
