Patou: In Black and White is a documentary on the life and career of UK born, Jamaican singer Pat "Patou" Powell. With testimony from himself and many family members and colleagues, it describes his early life with his immigrant parents facing racial discrimination in the UK and his global singing career endoing up with his settling in Australia. Patou has had several partners and 4 children with different mothers. The film examines the closeness of all these family ties and relationships as well as illustrating Patou's wide ranging musical performances.
