Pikmin 4 is a third person, three-dimensional, isometric view game and the latest edition in the Pikmin franchise. The game presents large open-world areas to explore, and consists of rescue missions and side quests, with elements of Real-time-strategy combat, puzzles, and problem-solving. The Player takes on the role of 'the Rookie' in the Rescue Corp., a personalized humanoid avatar who explores the unknown planet as whilst they discover and enlist various types of Pikmin to salvage valuable treasures containing sparklium and fighting off enemy creatures.

Violence

The game includes mild violence that is treated in a highly stylised, light-hearted manner. Players' avatars fight and defeat creatures by slamming into or latching onto them, whacking it with their bud or flower-like "antenna". Creatures can set players' avatars on fire or electrocute them, others perform squashing moves, a few skewer their targets on sharp appendages, and most simply chomp down and start chewing on them. There is no bloodshed or injury details or acts of torture within the game.
