Playmobil the Movie is a live action/animated comedic film about a young woman, Marla, who follows her inquisitive brother, Charlie, into the magical world of Playmobil.
The film contains themes of death, when two children are informed by police that their parents have been in an accident. This is handled discreetly and sensitively. There are other references to death in “pirate-speak” language, including a pun about “dying to know”, and song lyrics, “They want you to die”. Other "pirate-speak" language in a song includes "silly wench".
Other themes include chase and/or capture by fantasy Playmobil characters, such as the T-Rex. Two characters are depicted wrapped up in laser-like coils, suspended above a pool of hot lava, having been captured by an alien boss character. As they are about to be plunged into the lava pool, they are saved by a robot servant, and instead land into another realm where they are met by a Fairy Godmother.
The film contains animated violence between Playmobil characters using Viking weapons, such as axes, swords and shields. There is no wound or injury depicted, and the scenes are brief and comedic in tone.
The film contains the use of the words "jerk" and "heck".
