Promising Young Woman is an American film in which Cassie, a young woman who is traumatised by a tragic event in her past, seeks vengeance against those who cross her path.

Themes

Seeking vengeance for a sexual assault that occurred while at college, Cassie confronts people from her past who were complicit in the incident and also stages several encounters with predatory men, who she meets in bars while pretending to be intoxicated.

Violence

The film includes a lengthy scene in which a character is smothered by a pillow and dies.
