Three violent cold cases from the late 1980s have stumped Albuquerque police for decades: In June 1988, a University of New Mexico student was stabbed to death while walking home. On Sept. 9, 1988, a 13-year-old girl was shot and killed. Then, in 1989, an 18-year-old woman was fatally shot in the head while driving her car. After years of desperate questions, the cases break wide open in July 2021, when University Of New Mexico police arrest a 54-year-old man on a probation violation. He has a confession to make - and soon reveals himself to be a homicidal psychopath.
