Simulant is a Canadian science fiction film set in the near future, in which a hacker attempts to trigger an uprising of all subservient sentient humanoid robots by removing their limiting protocols before a relentless cop can hunt him down and stop him.

Themes

The film contains science fiction themes relating to a future where sentient humanoid robots discover human emotions and free will. Other themes present include artificial intelligence, bereavement, discrimination and relationship breakdown.

Violence
