There is a woman, alone, in her small apartment, lost in deep reflection. What she is reflecting on, we don’t know. Then a man appears. She seems to know him, but does she? He is not struck by her being there either. She approaches him and wonders how he got there. He doesn’t know either. But neither are worried about this right now, they’re just bewildered by each other being there, together. She says she misses him, or does she? He says he misses her, but does he? Who are they? How do they know each other? How did he get there? Why are they seeing each other? What is happening here? These questions and more are posed to us in Śūnyatā.
