Swallowed is an American body-horror thriller in which two friends ingest drugs to smuggle across the border, only to realise that what they have consumed is something far worse.

Themes

The film contains horror themes as well as themes related to drug smuggling, homophobia, sustained threat and gay pornography. The film features several sequences in which characters implicitly remove living bugs from a man's anus with brief accompanying blood detail viewed in post-action visuals.
