Thuramukham is an Indian period action-drama film set in the backdrop of workers’ struggles and protests against the ‘chappa’ system of casual labour practiced at the Mattancherry harbour during the 1940s. The film is in Malayalam with English subtitles.

Themes

Thematic content includes illness, criminal activity and political corruption. In one scene a girl is depicted with an open wound on her face as a result of an infection and in another scene a man's bloody, open leg wound is viewed briefly.

Violence

The film contains scenes in which characters are shot with rifles and hit with objects. The depictions are accompanied by blood effects. The film also contains scenes which contain sequences of combat during which characters are punched, kicked, thrown and shoved.
