Achille (Matteo Olivetti) and Stella (Martina Gatti) have been a couple since they were teenagers. Now in their 30s, they live in a small provincial town, managing a grueling agricultural business, raising their young son. Desperate for a break, Stella leaves for a few days to visit a childhood friend in Rome. At a party, she meets Gil (Jimi Durotoje), a charismatic Black chef. They share a night of passion. The next morning, consumed by immense guilt, she rushes back home to her husband. In an effort to repair their bond and seal their love, she and Achille share an equally passionate night together. Stella soon discovers she is pregnant. The true shock, however, arrives at the delivery room: she gives birth to twins—one white and one Black. The doctor explains that she has experienced an exceptionally rare phenomenon known as heteropaternal superfecundation (where two separate eggs are fertilized by two different men during the same ovulation cycle).
