Venom: Let There be Carnage is a US science fiction/fantasy action film in which a journalist, Eddie, and the symbiotic alien organism that lives within him, Venom, battle a serial killer, Cletus, who also hosts a symbiotic alien, Carnage.
The film contains science fiction and fantasy themes, including depictions of shape-shifting alien creatures, as well as references to crime and murder. The primary antagonist is a serial killer with a history of family abuse.
The film contains highly stylised action violence, with battles between two alien creatures, Venom and Carnage, and brief sequences involving violence against humans who are punched, kicked, stabbed and suffocated. Decapitations and hangings are also implied, with much of the action occurring below or off screen.
