It also depicts some historial milestone events through short newsreel excerpts including scenes from the Russian Revolution, Cultural Revolution and the demonstrations in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The films includes biographical details of Jiawen Shen and his wife Wan Lang and their families in their life in China before emigrating to Australia.
