The White Tiger is a US/Canadian dramatic feature which follows a low-caste Indian, Balram, as he leaves behind a life of poverty to become a driver for Ashok and Pinky, a successful couple in Delhi who have just returned from America. An accidental act of violence sets in motion a chain of events which see Balram challenge an unequal system and pursue his dream of being a successful entrepreneur.

Themes

The film depicts the burning of a body on a funeral pyre and a hit-and-run car accident. Verbal references are made to prostitution and political corruption.

Violence

The film depicts violence inflicted with blades, guns and blunt instruments. A man is stabbed in the back of the head with a broken bottle, with some blood detail evident.
