Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a remastered version of the original game, YS: The Oath of Felghana, an action-adventure RPG played from a 3rd person perspective. The player as Adol Christin travels to the land of Felghana to save the island from the revival of an ancient evil.

Themes

The game contains fantasy themes, set in a medieval world. Played as an action RPG, the player battles enemy soldiers and magical creatures including fairies, giant insects and skeleton zombie warriors from a 3rd person perspective. The game also contains verbal references to self-sacrifice and a depiction of an island collapse.

Violence

The game contains violence in the form of the player using swords and magic spells to attack enemies in which small puffs of blood appear. Some enemies break into pieces and disappear in a burst of light from the environment when defeated. During one cutscene, a character is stabbed in the chest, collapsing in a pool of blood.
