Cost recovery

Fees and charges

The Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Regulations 2005 determines the fees and charges for classification services.

Cost recovery implementation statements

A cost recovery implementation statement (CRIS) must be prepared to account for any fees charged by an agency.

The aim of the CRIS is to provide information on how fees are calculated and to cost recover for specific government activities.

The 2025 CRIS has been prepared during a period of regulatory reform. A decision has been taken to maintain the fee structure set out by the 2018 CRIS while ongoing reforms to the National Classification Scheme are settled.
